AUF POLICY ON AFRICAN ART & CULTURE
ART POLICIES MUST STRENGTHEN AFRICAN COMMUNITIES

The AUF will establish funding for cultural organizations and give legislated recognition for artists in all fields. The AUF recognizes that fine arts, architecture, music, literature, dance etc., are the most important weapon in the struggle against neo-colonialism and cultural repression, culture is what defines the African people...its presevation and elevation is imperative if Africa is to achieve true unification and independence. Already African art and music have made a tremendous impact on world culture, and established Africans as a people.

Funding for the arts in Africa is not consistent. It is necessary for cultural reasons to make Africans art even stronger than it is, and to stabilize it in order for it to competent internationally. Of particular concern is the dissemination of African literature, and support of artists. The AUF recognizes that only a few artists receive recognition for their efforts, many are forced to immigrate, and most have no control in the commercialization of the artists work.
